I have just recently purchased a pair of Skullcandy SC-HESH headphones…
The best sound quality I have ever heard. They are noise reducing, but most effective when your music is loud enough. I don’t really mind that since I need to be aware of the main output sounds when I’m DJing. They work perfectly for pre-cuing in djay, and they are cofortable. The ear pads are made of soft leather and fit my head well.
I reccomend these headphones to anyone reading this. That means you better get up and go buy them now.

The Griffin PowerMate is awesome! It’s fun and addictive to play with even when it’s not plugged into my laptop. It has programmable options for what happens when you spin it, or click it, it click AND spin it. It’s amazing for breakout games, scrolling through firefox or text documents. Great ergonomic device. It also works perfectly for what I got it for, adjusting the fader in djay.
I reccomend this device only if you have a need for it, and keyboard shortcuts for what you need.

I am the Walrus, by The Beatles.
Anyway…
That’s what I feel like right now, cause I just spilled some cerial before I sat down and I’m waiting for my Griffin PowerMate to come in the mail van.
Get it? ‘Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come.’?
Expect a product review of the Griffin PowerMate soon, we’ll see if it meets my needs.

The IM application that I use on my mac is Adium, it’s a really good app. It’s just that I was looking at the advanced settings, and I found a checkbox with a strange hover message.

what the heck does that mean?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I just recently got a new piece of software (its for macs only. sorry PC users, you got screwed) called djay from Algoriddim. It’s professional/recreational DJing software. it’s got 2 turntables, sliders, knobs and buttons that do wonderful things. and thanks to my luck, it works with the multitouch trackpad on my Mac Book Pro, so that means scratching! it’s not quite as good as actual scratching, but it’s the best digital scratching sound I’ve heard for any computer ever. It’s got crossfade, looping, speed, pitch, 3 band EQ + total gain band, even the needle moves over the vinyl. It also has compatibility with the AU units, like my AU Labs program has, so I’m really never far away from home. i can even record my mixes and such. It automatically loads all of my music from my iTunes library, and yes, it can play those pesky protected iTunes store files (which is a REALLY nice feature). If you’re interested, here’s the link to the site: http://www.djay-software.com/. I recommend you take a look at it if you have a mac.

In responce to my AU Labs post, ‘trance’ typed into pandora.com + SUPER BASS + DJ quality headphones = mind blowing sound. If you are one of those people who have the huge subwoofers in your car and drive around with it blasting loud to some rap song, you still don’t know the making of bass.
BTW, if you are one of those people I just described: stop it, it’s stupid, really.

So it’s true when they say that macintosh computers are good for audio recording. I finally figured out how to use AU Lab to filter my iTunes music. Yay for super bass! I think I may have figured out how to make it filter my microphone input. It’s much harder to set up than one would think… But it’s kinda like a math problem. I’ll get it sooner or later.
(I just realized how BAD at math I am, so I guess it’ll me later rather than sooner)

That’s right, Cern fired up their new Large Hadron Collider today, September 10, 2008. Yesterday, i was scared for nothing because they indeed did launch a particle beam of lead near the speed of light, but they did not make 2 of them collide, only testing the machine’s capability by firing one beam clockwise around the 14 mile long tunnel located underneath the border of France and Switzerland.
